ESC project at Globala Kronoberg

YOUTH, CULTURE, MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION

About Globala Kronoberg
Globala Kronoberg is an international organization for young people and other organizations in Kronoberg, Sweden. We work mostly with European initiatives such as the ERASMUS+ programme and European Solidarity Corps in which we offer mobility possibilities for young people, youth workers, and organizations. We send, receive, and coordinate volunteers within the ESC.

Our mission is not only to provide opportunities for young people to develop competences and skills through informal and non-formal learning, but also to inform, support, and encourage them to take part in the above mentioned international programs. Our target groups are youngsters and youth leaders interested in international projects, and organizations and municipalities that want to host a volunteer in their workplace.

The office of Globala Kronoberg is located at the Network SIP, which is an umbrella network of organizations with different aims and backgrounds and plenty of weekly activities we all can take part in.

Work-schedule and team
A regular workday mainly consists of office work (such as taking care of our social media, helping with day-to-day and ongoing tasks, and implementing ideas on how to promote mobility opportunities etc.). But there will also be many days when you will leave your laptop, e.g., when visiting schools to inform about mobility opportunities, helping other volunteers to settle down in Växjö, planning events, joining the practical team and many other tasks.

As a volunteer you will work in a small team of people; these might be volunteers, interns, project leaders and project assistants (even from other organizations within the Network SIP).
The volunteers will be working for 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The volunteers are encouraged to take courses in Swedish to easier integrate into the Swedish society. The volunteer decides together with the supervisor the amount of time spent on learning it every week.
Besides 2 days off per week, volunteers are granted another 24 days off for 12 months (2 days off per month).
